GREEN COMMUNITIES CANADA ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
To be eligible for the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, homeowners must meet the following criteria:
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Own a detached, semi-detached, townhouse or mobile home
The property must be the homeowner’s primary residence
The upgrades must be installed by a licensed contractor
ENERGY REBATES AVAILABLE TO ONTARIO HOMEOWNERS
The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program provides rebates for a variety of energy-efficient upgrades, including:
Up to $5,000 for new insulation
Up to $1,000 for air sealing
Up to $1,000 for basement and exterior wall insulation

GREEN COMMUNITIES APPLICATION PROCESS

Schedule a post-upgrade home evaluation with a licensed service organization

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE GREEN COMMUNITIES REBATE PROGRAM
Homes that are not the owners’ primary residence and do not have an active Enbridge Gas account
Multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs) with more than 3 storys or larger than 600 m2
Homes built less than 6 months ago
Mixed use buildings that are less than 50% residential
